WHAT IS HOME STAGING?

Home Staging is the art of preparing a home for sale, using marketing and decorating techniques to showcase your homes best features and create an atmosphere that is inviting to potential buyers.  By working to eliminate clutter, re-arrange furniture, add accessories and emphasize the positives of your home, a Creative Impressions Home Staging Consultant can help you maximize your homes potential and make the best first impression possible.  The ultimate goal is to enhance the overall appeal of your home, allowing potential Buyer’s to feel right at home, so you can sell quickly and for top dollar.   

A Creative Impressions consultant may recommend wall colors, repairs, repositioning or additions of furniture, art, accessories and other items, that will yield the greatest return.   We work to make your home stand out from all the others. 

The Elements to staging a home include the following “FEEL HOME” criteria: 

  1. First Impressions – We’ll assess the overall appeal of each room and use that as our starting point in preparing an action plan. 
  1. Eliminating Clutter – By eliminating clutter, oversized furniture and dated accessories, your home will seem larger and more inviting to potential buyers.  Square footage sells and de-cluttering opens up the space.
  1. Emphasizing the Positives - Focus is put back on key features of your home, by enhancing the focal points and removing or re-positioning items that are distracting.
  1. Lighten Up – By balancing lighting and color choices throughout the home, a dark dreary home can be turned into one that really makes an impact.  Each room in your home should be bright, warm and inviting. 
  1. De-Personalize – Buyer’s need to feel at home.  By eliminating items that remind buyers they’re in someone else’s home, the emphasis is put back on the home rather than who lives there.
  1. Odors/Cleaning/Repairs – You want Buyers to focus on your home, not unpleasant odors, and repairs.  Buyers will only assume more repairs will be needed and additional problems exist.  These items should be taken care of before placing your home on the market.
  1. Modernizing – Updating the style can be achieved easily with the use of accessories, fabrics and other materials.  Knowing what Buyer’s want in a home today and providing that to them can really make a difference.  Paint, textures, fabrics, accessories, lighting, etc. are all simple yet effective ways to achieve modernization of your home.
